Marcasite is a natural mineral used in jewelry. It is a light and brittle mineral that is often mistaken for pyrite. Pyrite and marcasite have the same chemical formula, but different crystal system, thereby making them two separate minerals. In jewelry, pyrite is used as a gem while marcasite is not. It is a mined stone and when used in jewelry, marcasite is cut and shaped very much like diamonds.
To get that antique or vintage look that is very popular today, I would recommend for our Hostess the beautiful pin: Antiquity which can be yours for only $29 and is exclusive to the hostess only.

As our country was making ready to celebrate it's 200th anniversary and my lovely parents were preparing to marry, some wonderful people introduced the cubic zirconia as a viable stone for jewelry production.
Cubic zirconia or CZ, is a synthetic stone and has no natural counterpart (can't be found in the rough in nature)1. It has the appearance of a natural stone but the true difference lies in the chemical composition, the optics and physical properties of the stone2. According to Laurel Sheppard, the CZ has a lower refractive index (let's call this the bling factor) than a natural diamond3. There fore the amount of sparkle a diamond gives off when exposed to light is much greater than that of a cubic zirconia. She also notes that a natural diamond has a hardness of 10, where as the CZ has a range of 8.5-9; not bad for a synthetic stone, so it will keep up with bumping and the occasional dropping that can happen to jewelry due to wear and tear of normal usage.
But just like a diamond, cubic zirconias also come in a variety of grades. Let's go shopping for a minute. Let's go back to the time we were once a bridesmaid and had to wear an opulent looking necklace and earring set that was $10 in a flea market or just over-priced at a bridal store. It was showy and looked nice in pictures but does stand up to the test of times and either became a play piece for a niece or daughter or was given away to goodwill.
A couple years later, a little wiser and cash flow being a little better we have opted for a CZ that looks like our birthstone, or just wanted that imitation solitaire for that perfect party dress or even the perfect right hand ring. White gold or sterling silver surrounded and matching earrings. It looks great, the bling factor is greater and what's phenomenal is that it can stand the test of time. I still have my blue heart CZ sitting in my jewelry box that I love to death and still wear to this day. Mother of Pearl, a versatile material that can be found on a delicate earring or in a dazzling mosaic ceiling. It's iridescence is strong yet delicate, a veritable yin and yang as the mother of pearl substance is the secretion of freshwater and some salt-water mollusks. Have you worked hard only to find out your team hasn't worked quite so hard and now you have to call them to ask them to turn in shows so you keep your Unit/Team/Organization in structure? Do you know what "Grace Months" are? I hope not!
How about the terms "Maintenance", "Structure", "Re-classified", "Quota"?
Do you have "black holes" in your organization? Area's where the original Leader is no longer in structure, and now you're expected to work with her team, yet still take the smaller cut of the profits. The lions share of profits is now going to the Company but your workload has increased! Companies love the "black hole" because it's very profitable for them!
